Last night, BET hosted its first edition of the Social Awards live in Atlanta, GA in celebration of the best and worst but nonetheless, socialites on social media. Hosted by comedian Michael Blackson, the night was filled with lots of laughter and loud costume/suits.
Joe Budden took home the well deserved Best Podcast award for his hit show titled, “The Joe Budden Podcast.”
Other awards included the Social Movement Award rightfully given to the founders of the Women’s March; Tamika D. Mallory, Bob Bland, Carmen Perez and Linda Sarsour. DC Young Fly, who as a result of his huge presence on social media is now a host on TRL, received the first-ever social verified award.
Rapper Kash Doll performed her single, “Side Chick” and also received the “Issa Wave” award.
We also saw appearances from Instagram and Youtube #RelationshipGoals couple, De’arra and Ken.
Social stars @Mr_HotSpot, Blame it on Kway, La La Sizahands, and Jess Hilarious also made appearances on the show with dance numbers and acceptance speeches.
