London Breed became San Francisco’s first African-American woman major in 2018 due to Mayor Edwin Lee passing during his term, she finished it out. One year later, Breed won reelection in a decisive victory to secure her first full four-year term. Breed is native to San Francisco and was raised by her impoverished grandmother in public housing. Homelessness is one of her priorities when it comes to policies.
